Automation Maintenance Manager
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Maintenance Supervisor to serve as the technical expert for the implementation, optimization, and maintenance of automated warehouse systems. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of automation technologies while leading and developing a team of maintenance professionals. The ideal candidate combines strong engineering knowledge with leadership capabilities to support efficient, safe, and continuous warehouse operations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee the implementation, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance of automated warehouse equipment and technologies
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate system performance and ensure technologies meet operational expectations
- Ensure all automated systems, conveyors, and related infrastructure remain fully operational with minimal downtime
- Develop and maintain a robust preventative maintenance program across all automation systems
- Supervise, coach, and manage a team of maintenance employees, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- Train team members and warehouse staff on the proper use and care of automated systems
- Plan, schedule, and oversee all maintenance and repair activities, including rapid response to emergency issues
- Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, including ordering and receiving as needed
- Maintain flexibility to work varying hours and shifts to support operational requirements
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, plus at least 2 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and industry experience
Preferred Qualifications & Certifications
- OSHA training or certification
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
- Certified Technical Professional (CTP) designation
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with safety programs, including electrical safety, fire safety, IPE, and confined space protocols
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform physical tasks including walking, standing, bending, reaching, and stooping for extended periods
- Capability to occasionally lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs
